Hello,

My friend got this coin but I think it is fake one. It has fineness 917 and weight 8.03g, diameter is correct also, but I don’t like the details.

Any thoughts?

IMO its a fake. Personally I am curious for 3 reasons:

1. On the obverse the colon ": " after IMP is missing.

2. The numbers for the date 1915 don’t look aligned and the correct sizes.

3. The hair on the back of the horse neck looks very different. The sword and dragons claws at the front also looks less detailed here.

If this is 22ct gold, yet a fake, then its still worth its weight in gold but to be honest i wouldn’t buy this one.

No doubt it’s a fake. I believe it is originating from the Middle East.

On a side note, Marshall, can we showcase your fake coin in our Fakes Database?

Sure, I’ve no problem with that!
